Scottish Football
Football is the national sport of Scotland and is just as popular in Scotland as it is in the rest of the UK and Scottish Football enjoys a great deal of recognition with its own leagues and times competing in tournaments annually. The term Scottish football can also be used to describe a traditional Scottish game which is allegedly popular on the border where despite being called Scottish football the ball is carried by hand and bears very little resemblance to the modern game of football, however when most people use the term Scottish Football they mean football as in soccer.
Scottish Football is governed by the SFA, which stands for the Scottish Football Association and is responsible for organizing every aspect of Scottish Football. Scottish football is also divided up into leagues, much like the football in England. The top two teams in the Scottish Football Premiership league are Rangers F.C and Celtic F.C and rivalry between the teams and the fans is fierce. Much like football in England the premiership division of Scottish Football is reserved for the top clubs, whilst the less successful clubs play in the first second and third divisions. The premiership games have very high levels of attendance each weekend and just go to demonstrate the high level of popularity that there is for Scottish football.
